News Quiz
Recently, The Pew Research Center published the Pew News IQ Quiz, which is a short quiz about current events. According to Pew, “on average, respondents could correctly answer approximately six out of twelve questions”. As I am a self-proclaimed news junkie, the quiz wasn’t optional. And, I am proud to say that I scored in the 91st percentile [I got 11 out of 12]. I would’ve have gotten a perfect score, but I no longer keep up with the Dow Jones index on a daily basis. Can you beat my score?

I was right behind you, in the 83rd percentile. I also missed the Dow Jones one, along with the Serbia question (which I felt stupid for not knowing). Must admit, though, I took educated guesses at a couple. I don’t watch much news, but I do listen to a lot of NPR!
I missed the question about Kosovo. Which pisses me off, because I knew the right answer, but answered Andorra thinking I’d missed a story on the news somewhere and Kosovo was old news.
It’s the old GRE rule: go with your gut and don’t out guess yourself.
